On Thursday 19 November 2009, Ann Cleeves and Chris Stout appeared together at St Mary's Centre, Gateshead, a converted church, in an event entitled Shetland comes to Tyneside: an evening of readings, anecdotes and music from the Shetland Isles. Ann Cleeves read from her Shetland Quartet and folk violinist Chris Stout played some traditional Shetland tunes, along with new compositions inspired by Ann's books.
